Review Of The Nytro GTX Salomon

For the rugged outdoorsman, finding the correct winter boot is of utmost importance, and Salomon promises to deliver with its new Nytro GTX Salomon winter boot. While weighing in with a hefty $220 price tag, the boot seems to earn its keep with the wide range of features that constitute it. The outside of the shoe offers protective leather and rubber toe caps, rubber heel caps, and an outsole composed of a myriad of different compounds in a lug geometry that maximizes winter grip, but is still non-marking.

Review Of The Nytro GTX SalomonThe inside of the Nytro GTX Salomon features a GORE-TEX membrane, synthetic fur lining material, and a new polyester EVA material called ClimaTHERM to enclose the entire foot, and create a much more efficient insulation system than that found in conventional winter footwear. The boot is made almost exclusively for high performance in or on ice and snow, and while warmth will most certainly not be an issue, those simply looking for something casual to wear in the winter months on their way to work, may want to consider going with a boot that is a bit less costly.

Unfortunately, while the Fastpacker Mid GTX and several other Salomon shoes have been reviewed on Amazon, the Nytro GTX Salomon has not. The reviews of the other Salomon boots on Amazon are quite good, and as such, one should expect the same from this line as well, but given how much it costs, it may be beneficial to wait until several reviews have been published, and any negative aspects of the boot have been properly flushed out.
